Regular Course

Curriculum (Regular Program)

Lectures and practices are held twice a month, every other Saturday.

Time: 9:30-12:30, 13:30-16:30

 

Basic subjects (lectures and training)

You will have the opportunities to learn and experience the local activities to revitalize Satoyama and Satoumi. By offering you not only the lectures, but also the opportunities for group discussions among trainees and instructors, you can gain a further understanding of the topics.

  • Ecological services of Satoyama & Satoumi
  • Nature and traditional cultures of Noto peninsula
  • Branding strategy utilizing local resources
  • Sixtiary industry—combining agricultural production as the primary industry with secondary and tertiary industries
  • New tourism—Eco-tourism and Green tourism
  • New practical uses of abandoned arable fields
  • Public transportation systems in the depopulated area
  • Planning methods for social businesses
  • New practical uses of GIS (Geographic Information System)
  • Environmental and biological monitoring
  • Fieldwork of community research
  • Fieldwork of farm household economy research

 

Practical subjects 

Toward the final presentation of a graduation thesis,  you can conduct the research in corporation with your classmates.  Your supervisor will give you advise and introduce you to other supervisors or relevant people to work out your thesis.

 

Steps to prepare graduation thesis

Step1 Setting up a theme and goal, planning and making arrangement

Step2 Carrying out study and research

  • Including seminar, workshop, mid-term report session, and study tour of advanced case studies

Step3    Preparing report and oral presentation

  • Including graduation thesis/project proposal/achievement report etc.
